What the 2018 Budget meant for Pacific peoples was the key message from the Hon Aupito William Sio, Minister for Pacific Peoples, at the Wellington Pacific Leaders’ Forum held on Wednesday 20 June at the offices of Oranga Tamariki.

The forum will not be holding a meeting in May.  The next meeting will be June 20th 6pm-8:30pm, venue Oranga Tamariki, Level 1,  56 The Terrace Wellington. The agenda will be out first week of June.

The WPLF executive recently met where the following decisions were agreed upon. That the forum would :

  • Complete a submission on the Wgtn City Council long term plan

  •  Explore enabling a Pasifika community group to deliver a Financial Literacy Workshop for Pasifika in Wellington

WPLF meeting hosted by Ministry for Pacific Peoples on Wed 18th April. Guest speakers provided the forum with valuable insights into their respective organisations which serve Pasifika communities.

Ministry for Pacific Peoples CEO Laulu Mac Leauanae (pictured top right) gave an opening address to the forum which included the four key priorities for MPP of Vision Leadership; Culture Heritage & Language ; Wealth & Income; Systems Leadership.
